About Us

The Batavia Business & Professional Women’s Club, Inc. was established 100 years ago in 1921 when all other clubs were strictly composed of men. Members believe themselves to be a cohesive group of dedicated women working together to improve the lives of others. For 99 years the BBPWC, Inc. has been serving the community in a plethora of ways. Currently, we raise thousands of dollars each year to provide scholarships for GVEP students and Genesee County High School Seniors. The money we raise also goes to support local charitable organizations. In addition, we donate funds throughout the year to programs who have a need. We also have a community service committee that is tasked with identifying volunteer needs in the community and finding recruits to fill these needs. Requests are made by civic organizations for specific community events. Members then volunteer their services on an individual basis; available time and skills being two of the major criteria considered when volunteering.

The women of the BBPWC, Inc. really care about their community. Each member is unique with different skill sets and abilities; together we complement each other. The group realizes and strives to utilize the individual member’s strengths and abilities. Members sign up for different Club Committees based on these abilities. There is also ample room for developing leadership skills within the Club. An added bonus of doing good work is the opportunity to meet ten times a year with other women in the community to network and socialize and to learn about other facets of the community
