The purchase of four frozen vegetable sites belonging to Allen's in 2012 was an incredible opportunity for Nortera to grow in North America. Having processing plants close to the crops and customers is key in this industry - and this makes Genesee County the perfect place for a vegetable processing plant. This plant is used to transform frozen and canned vegetables and a variety of canned sauces, baked beans, legumes and soups.

As well as producing for major retail brands, Nortera also markets vegetables under its own brands, including Arctic Gardens in Canada and the United States. The company services supermarkets and catering circuits including restaurants, institutional food service and school dining halls using products grown in the GLOW region.
